Midnight Musings

Bite Sized Thoughts, Life Lessons and Impressions, Poetry

This is night life, she speaks. To no one but herself and her virtual pen.

Over cups of milk tea, she drinks drop by drop.

The cool wind that blankets her skin, the sensible pages and the momentary silence in between. There is an odd, yet pleasant chemistry along her Clementine, his ragged old guitar and those papers that ‘sing’.

She sips again. And again. And yearns for the mysteries of the hours between the nightfall and the dawn.

She captures a thought.

The flavor is called nostalgia. It tastes like a tension between joy and tears.

no other way

Faith, Life Lessons and Impressions, Poetry, Uncategorized

to end
there is no other way
but
to start

to live
there is no other way
but
to ‘die’

to find him
there is no other way
but
to stop seeking

to see yourself
there is no other way
but
to see Him

to speak
there is no other way
but
to listen

to get that
there is no other way
but
to give this up

to go there
there is no other way
but
to stop here

to lead
there is no other way
but
to follow

to fill your cup
there is no other way
but
to empty it

to gain
there is no other way
but
to lose

because
sometimes
in life
there is
no
other
way
but

the way

To a Place that Is

Life Lessons and Impressions, Poetry, Uncategorized

To a place that is quiet
where my footsteps are
louder than the world
To a place where a lush
awaits my back
to lie and dream
in pages,
in words
and in verses
To a place that permits time
to stop and just smell
the fragrance of flowers
under the blue summer sky
To a place where the wind
kisses my face
with the indescribable
calmness in His promises

I want to go

Let the gentle summer air kiss you

Life Lessons and Impressions, Poetry

Let the gentle summer air kiss you
with the touch of joyful reminiscence
Let the morning light awaken you
with all that you have hoped for
and all that He has promised
Let your breath whisper
all the Love your soul has encountered.

in the darkest of hours
the absence of light

YOU are the light of the world.

Why Do I Pray?

Faith, Life Lessons and Impressions, Poetry, Uncategorized

Because I believe, I  receive

Because I received, I believe

Because I expect, He perfects

Because I am His, life’s a bliss

Because he has it all, my all is his

Why do I pray?

Because he tells me to ask and say

Because not a second I am forgotten.

Because not a blink he fails to listen

Because my every breath shall thank

Because He is whatever I need to fill this ________.

Why ?

This Empty Garden Seat

Life Lessons and Impressions, Military, Photography, Poetry

The shadow sits with no one

But the soul of

This empty garden seat

To capture a pause the world can not give

To drop a tear the world can not see

To whisper the stories of his lonesome heart

To no one but this quiet garden seat

The greens and the blues closely overhear

The shadow stands up

Leaving a countless memories

The world may not remember

But this  garden seat forgets never

The shadow leaves the fragrance of his memories

Wafting through the nonchalant  air

Over Nth Cups of Coffee

Life Lessons and Impressions, Poetry, Uncategorized

Over nth cups of coffee
The countless, swift rotations

Of the clock
The minutes
The seconds

I have wished to conspire for my favor

The patient, “intelligent pen”

The inevitable visual marks of sacrifice
The war between my drowsy eyes
and my fighting heart

When will I see you go and done
And finally lay in the hands of a judge
The thoughts I have ignored
The walks I have procrastinated
The rest I have deprived myself of
I should not give in
How many more daydreams of a playful summer,
a restful slumber,
a debt-free tomorrow
to liberate from this little sorrow?

How many more?

A little more
In just a very little while

The countenance
of the desperation
Patiently changes

Undone
But I behold
Finished.

I Rise as You Are Risen

Faith, Life Lessons and Impressions, Love, Poetry, Uncategorized

victory-over-bad-habits

Life is never the same again

When I found You

How can I ever fathom Your Love for me

When at my worst You gave Your very best

That day when Heaven became silent

You did it just so You can hear me loud today

No other event can surpass the greatness

Of this beautiful exchange

Your Son, sinless and blameless

Became sin so I can be made righteous

He was crowned with the worst thorns

Just so I can have the Best Crown

He thought of me when He died

He thought of me when He was risen

Oh, what a beautiful Love to rest in!

Unconditional, unfailing and unending

Nothing can come between us

Your love for me is greater than anything

It never runs out

Because He won, I will forever win

Because He loves, I can forever love

Because there is Hope in His resurrection,

I can have Hope

Not in what I do

But in who You are and what You have done

Because of that,

I can walk in health and wholeness

Because He is and has everything, I can have everything

I may see darkness

But I look to Your Light

I may have stumbled

But I will continue to run

Worst things may come

But they will never matter

For I know I have the Best

Your love is greater than

my circumstances

I look to You alone

Who made everything good available for me

When You said “It is finished.”

I rise as You are risen

Death has no power since You have conquered death

Everything finds purpose in You

How can I not be moved by this Love

When it is the most powerful thing

the world has ever known?

My heart will sing to you

Make us fall in love with You

More and more

Love is all the You are

Thank You for redeeming me

That cost Jesus’ blood

Lover of my soul, You truly are

I will triumph as You have triumphed!

I will rise as You are risen!

All Glory is Yours!
